Obituary of Margaret Rachel Singleton

SINGLETON, Margaret Rachel Rivers was born on September 19, 1921 and went home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Wednesday, February 10th, 2010. She was born on a small farm in Carrollton, Mississippi, and raised in Stewart, Mississippi. She graduated from Kilmichael High School in 1940, where she played on the basketball team and won a state title. She was a loving and caring wife to C. B. Singleton for sixty four years until his passing in May of 2004, she will be joining him at Florida National Cemetery Cemetery, in Bushnell, FL. She is survived by her three children, Marthal R. Jeffries, Curtis B. and James E. Singleton; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and two great great-grandchildren. She passed in the late morning peacefully and quietly surrounded by her loved ones. She will be remembered by those who loved her as someone who loved being with her family, enjoyed sewing, canning, and making anything she could grow. She will also be remembered by her family as the world’s best biscuit maker and a wonderful cook. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 16th at Loyless Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 15th at Loyless Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Moffitt Cancer Center, Tampa.
