Obituary of Daisy L. Kersey

Daisy L. Kersey, 95, went to be with the Lord on January 9, 2010. A service will be held at Loyless Funeral Home at 5310 Land O’ Lakes Blvd. Mrs. Kersey was born in Darby, Florida, on February 14, 1914, and moved to the Ehren community after her marriage to WW Kersey Sr. She was a member of New Tampa Baptist Church; and was fondly called “the dumpling lady” for her delicious chicken dumplings she would bring for the covered dish dinners. Her family loved to gather at her home every Friday for a wonderful home cooked meal. She loved to tell stories of her childhood and all the growth she had seen in Pasco County. She will be greatly missed by her family and everyone who knew her. Mrs. Kersey is survived by her daughter, Marie (Betty) Hagan and her son-in-law Roy Hagan; grandchildren Darleen Jeffery, Wanda Moore, Linda Winchester, and Ronald Kersey; 10 great grandchildren; 3 great, great grandchildren; as well as numerous nephews and nieces all over the country. She was preceded in death by her husband WW Kersey Sr.; son WW Kersey Jr.; and grandson, Wayne Kersey.
