Obituary of Mary A Cones

MARY A. (BOSCH) CONES, passed away December 2, 2008 at the age of 101, in Roberts Hospice Care Center, Palatka, FL. Her resident had been Moultree Nursing Home, in St Augustine, Florida. She was born on July 13, 1907. She came to Florida from Mishawaka, IN. After her retirement, she made her home with her husband Carl on their farm in Granger, IN. Mary was born in Lendva Ujfala, Zala County, Zalaovo, Hungary and immigrated through Ellis Island, NY arriving on 14 May 1910 at the age of 2. She attended Laurel and Oliver Schools. Mary became a citizen on November 25, 1925 and was very happy and proud when she was issued the Certificate of Citizenship by the U S Immigration Service on June 6th 2008. Mary attended Mass at Saint Anthony de Padua Church, Ironwood and Jefferson, and was a member of the Circle of Mercy. She was a member of Saint Monica Catholic Church in Palatka, FL. She was preceded in death by her father, Ignatz Bacsi Bosch; mother, Mary (Peters) Bosch; grandparents, Michael and Anna Peters; Uncle Steve and Aunt Anna Peters; husband, Carl Cones; step-daughter, Caryl Lindley; brothers, Joe, Steve, Mike, John and Frank Bosch; sisters, Rose Saltess and Elsie Hoffman. Surviving are step son-in-law, Jack Lindley, San Mateo, FL; sisters, Irene Florek and Ann Garris, of Lynch, KY and brother, Bill Bosch of Land O' Lakes, FL; sisters-in-law, Lillian of Morristown, TN and Bernice of Hammond, IN and many step-grand-children, step-great grand children, nephews and nieces. She loved all her cousins from the Peters and Resner families and enjoyed her many friends at Cambridge Square. Mary was an avid canasta player and she was always there with a helping hand. Mary always requested Audra to sing, "I'm Proud to be a Coal Miners Daughter". She was a Notre Dame football fan. Mary was a longtime employee of Ball Band/Uniroyal where she retired after long and faithful service. She enjoyed visiting and socializing with the Uniroyal Retirees. Internment was in the family area at Saint Joseph Valley Memorial Park, 375 Cleveland Rd., Granger, IN. Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home Palatka, Fl., was in charge of arrangements. Mary's family expresses our heart felt thanks to the employees at Moultrie Assisted Living and the Moultrie Nursing Home, St Augustine, FL, for their kindness and care. The 100th Birthday Party was awesome thanks to cousins Dorothy De Gann and Dawn Lucas. Memorial donations may be made to Roberts Hospice Care Center, 6400 St Johns Ave., Palatka, FL 32177, or the charity of your choice.
