Obituary of Alice Esther Callaway

CALLAWAY, Alice Esther, 89, passed away Monday, December 1, 2008 in Land O’ Lakes, FL. She was born in Plainfield, NJ and lived most of her adult life in N. Plainfield before retiring to Barnegat, NJ. She has lived with her daughter in Woodbury, MN before moving to Land O’ Lakes, FL. She graduated from Plainfield High School and Mulenberg Hospital School of Nursing in Plainfield, NJ. She retired after 35 years as a registered nurse. When she retired, Alice was head of the ADL Department at Children’s Specialized Hospital in Mountainside, NJ. She was a member of Hydewood Park Baptist Church in North Plainfield, NJ. She lost the love of her life Lyman Callaway, husband of 58 years in 2003. She is survived by her daughters, Joan and husband John Vetter of Toms River, NJ and Jean and husband John Edwards of Land O’ Lakes, FL; sister, Dorothy and husband Joe DeAngeles of Lancaster, PA; grandchildren, Christine, James, Steven, Mark, Melissa, Keely and 13 great grandchildren.
