Obituary of Joseph William Gilliand

GILLIAND, Joseph William, Sr. “Bill”, 79, of Clearwater, passed away Friday, May 9, 2008. He was born in Memphis, TN and moved to FL from Greenwich, CT in 1990. Bill served in the Navy. He graduated from Memphis State with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and English. He was an announcer with CBS Broadcasting and retired after more than 30 years of service. He announced for 60 Minutes, CBS Morning News, Special Events and was Director of CBS News Radio. He was a member of Feather Sound Country Club. He is preceded in death by his wife, Jean Cathy Gilliand and daughter, Barbara Gilliand Siciliano. He is survived by his son, Joseph William Gilliand, Jr. “Billy” of Largo; daughter, Mary and her husband, Ernie D’Angelo of Largo; and four grandchildren, Michael and Kimberly Siciliano and Lauren and Christopher D’Angelo. hn glover death datepsychology and lung cancer
