Obituary of Anna Agnes Burdette

BURDETTE, Anna Agnes McGucken , 89, of Charleston, WV, passed away Saturday January 19, 2008 at University Community Hospital in Tampa, FL. She was born in Wellsburg, WV, and moved to Charleston, WV, from Bancroft, WV, in 1951. She was first and foremost a loving wife and mother who later became an adoring grandmother and great grandmother. She was Catholic and a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. She was employed by General Machinery Naval Ordinance Facility during WWII. She attended Sacred Heart High School and Charleston School of Commerce. She was former VP and President of the Ladies’ Auxiliary Local 317 Firefighters-International Association, Inter City Council of Neighborhoods, 5th District Democratic Committee/Women’s 1974-82 for Kanawha County Democrat Executive Committee. She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Cecelia McGucken; brothers, Patrick and William McGucken and sister Rosemary McGucken. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth R. Burdette of Charleston, WV; son, Paul T. Burdette and (wife Anne) of, Houston, TX; daughters, Roseanne D. Burdette McDonnell of Land O’Lakes, FL; Bridget M. Burdette Blevins of Midlothian, VA.; brothers Bernard and John McGucken; sister Patricia McGucken Weber; seven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be held at Loyless Funeral Home, Tuesday at 10 a.m. Interment with a memorial service is planned in Charleston, WV in the Spring. Visitation will be at Loyless Funeral Home, Land O’Lakes, FL January 21, 2008 from 6 to 8 pm.
