Obituary of Joseph F. Montenegro

Montenegro, Joseph F., 79 of Land O’ Lakes passed away, Saturday, August 11, 2007 quietly at his home. He was born in Hackensack, NJ and moved to Florida in 1990. He served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. He was a retired electronic engineer. He was a skilled carpenter and his hobbies included model airplane building, arts & crafts and oil painting. He was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, Land O’ Lakes; 4th Degree, Knights of Columbus, Land O’ Lakes Council 8104 ; the American Legion, 45 years with Post 199, and the Hawthorne Caballero Sr. Drum & Bugle Corps, NJ. He tried his hardest to do his very best in any endeavor he undertook. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Susie of Land O’ Lakes; son: Patrick (Debbie) Montenegro of Rustburg,VA ; daughter: Sharon (Russell) Grant of Land O’ Lakes; 5 grandchildren: Joe and Jonathan Montenegro; Carynn, Angelica and Summer Grant. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 16, 2007 at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, Land O’ Lakes. Interment will follow at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell with military honors.
