Obituary of Kline Emmerson Blackburn

BLACKBURN, Kline Emmerson, 88, of Villa Rica, GA passed away Friday, December 5, 2008. He was born July 25, 1920 in Doerun, GA son of the late Stonewall Jackson and Elizabeth Gray Blackburn. Mr. Blackburn was a Veteran of the U. S. Army, serving his country under General George Patton during WWII and also served 30 years in the U. S. Air Force as Master Sergeant. He was a member of King’s Way Baptist Church, Douglasville, GA. Mr. Blackburn is survived by his wife, Joyce Blackburn; children, Kline Blackburn, Jr., Sharon Affronti and her husband, Robert, Joyce Benoit, Leroy Harris and Nancy Langston; grandchildren, Dana Mitchell, Jeffery Affronti, Rebecca Greene, Shawn Harris and Joshua Benoit; brother, Wallace Blackburn and his wife, Joanne; 4 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held with military honors at Land O’ Lakes Baptist Church Cemetery on Thursday, December 11, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Atlanta City Baptist Resuce Mission, 316 Peters St SW, Atlanta, GA 30313; King’s Way Baptist Church Youth Department or King’s Way Baptist Church Building Fund, 6456 The Kings Way, Douglasville, GA 30135.
