Grammie, the other day Alex saw a picture on my desk of you when you were young. He asked me if it was you & I told him it was. He said he misses you & I told him I also miss you very much. He knows that you are in Heaven with God now & he understands, pretty well for a 5 year old, that you can not come back. Knowing that, he looked up at me with sad eyes & asked if God could make you again. I smiled at him & told him that He could not, but that we can always talk to you & that you will hear us. I talk to you all of the time. I’m having a rough time right now. I know it’s partly because of the holidays. It’s going to be so hard without you here this Christmas & New Years. We all got away for Thanksgiving, but I don’t think we can do that for every holiday! ;) Ms. Kathy told me that once you get thru all of the firsts, it does get better. I hope this year goes by fast, Grammie, because we’ve only begun. Maybe next year by this time will be easier. We went to a Candle Light Remembrance ceremony at Loyless, & Joseph saw your picture on the screen & announced to everyone “There’s Great Gram!” His eyes lit up when he saw your picture. He misses you, too, & always talks about you. I know it will get better, especially because we are all here for each other. We also all know that you are watching over us! I love you so much Grams!! Enjoy your front row seat to a True Christmas in Heaven. We’ll all be thinking of you!

Hi Gram. Just thought I'd drop a line to say hello and I miss you. I think and talk about you always. Some days are harder than others to hold back the tears. I think of how beautiful you are when your smiling. How are we going to get through Christmas without you? You were the one who organized everything. It's just not going to be the same. Hi Granny, I just figured I would check in. I talk to you most every night, but I am hoping that putting my thoughts in writing will help. You see, lately I haven't been able to go a day without missing you terrible. I will always miss you and think about you, but it has been real rough lately. I find it hard to get through the day without the tears running down my face and my heart aching. I have so many memories of you, it's funny the things I have remembered since you have gone. Little things trigger them like a song, the smell of your house, the lake and even your pink slippers. Just holding them in my hand I can still smell the lotion you used. I was cooking cream of wheat the other night and thought back to the days you would make it for us and drizzle honey over the top. We had a suprise b-day party for grandpa the other night, I couldn't help but think of you and wonder why you had to leave so soon. I question myself often if I gave up on you too soon. I know in my head that I couldn't stop what God had planned, but my heart wonders if I should have kept fighting for you. You know I would have done anything to keep you here, it was just a battle I couldn't win. I feel like you tried so hard to stay. I feel like I should have said more. I know I told you I love you, we talked about a lot of things, but if you were here I would say thank you for being my grandma. Thank you for loving us all. Thank you for being the foundation to our family and keeping us all around each other. Thank you for giving me my Mom. Thank you for the memories. Thank you for having faith and trust in me. I am so lucky to have spent the last year and a half with you. I would not trade that time for anything in the world. I will remember the trip through Mexico in Epcot, volontering with you, the cookies, swimming, the parades, the parties and many more. I will hold you close to my heart and will never let you go. Gram, most of all I want to thank you for so many memories you have left with us. So much energy in everything you did. From mowing the lawn, to walking for hours in the amusement parks, to getting the family together for the holidays, birthdays, play at the lake & so much more. All of which another memory was born. When I close my eyes I see the Beautiful You. I am so blessed to have had such a wonderful grandmother. Gram, you are in a better place but I am so missing you & wish you did not have to go. This is supposed to be a celebration of life so why do the tears keep coming? I love you with all my heart. P.S. Do you think you could put in a good word for all of us? Although, I havent been in the family for long Ifeel very blessed and touched by such a wonderful family, that has truly cared for me as much as I have them. but most of all was Joan who when she was in the hospital and I stayed overnight with her she got up at 2 am and wanted to go for a walk, then do the crossword puzzle,but not only that ,but we talked for hours and we laughed so hard because we were so tiered. but not bored. the next day she introduced me to one of the nurses as her friend. that ment so much to me. I will always miss and remember my friend joan. I learned alot in a short time from this greatfriend,mother,grandmother and great grandmother. I love you my friend.

I have known Ms. Coakley's family for as long as I can remember. I met her only a few times, but I know that she was a wonderful and very loved person. I spent one Christmas at her house and quite a few days out on the lake with her family when I was young, and I have only great memories from there. She brought her family together, and she will be missed.

Last year, when Grammie was so sick, I prayed every day that God would let us have one more Christmas with her. Every day since, I’ve thanked God, for each day was truly a blessing. Although some times were trying, everybody came together without question or hesitation to be with Grammie and to support each other, especially in the last few days. I’m proud to see what a wonderfully close family we have, which, no doubt, stemmed from Grammie -“The Princess Mother” herself. I know Grammie is smiling down on us now. She has no doubt how much we all love her, and left us with no doubt how much she loves us. That has been the most comforting feeling for me this past week. Grammie, you have your hands full now… Being a “Guardian Angel” for our whole family is a lot of work! We will miss you, but are comforted in knowing that you are in a better place now. My great grandma was an amazing woman. She has inspired me in so many ways and i know she will always help me through my obsticles in life as i grow older. At first when my great grandma passed, i was in a way confused because i felt like she deserved more time...but then i thought about how happy she must be. My great grandma has reunited with her dad, and mom and so many other people she cared so much for! I know that she is looking down on her whole family now, and watching over us. She loved all of us equally! And even though so many people are sad that she is gone, everyone is so glad to know that she is in a better place surrounded by so many people she loves. Great gram i will always love you and no matter what i will always remember how you dressed me up in your fur coat and bright red lipstick. The memories i have of you will never fade away. Joan and I have been intertwined all my life. As my sister, she helped to name me, helped to raise me and has always been my closest friend and relative. As her sister, I will never be without her in my thoughts. Joan was a devoted wife and mother to her children as well as a caregiver for me at a time when I so desperately needed one. There will forever be a whole in my heart where she once was, but there will always be memories of her and the good and cherished times we shared. I will indeed miss her.

I am now and forever honored to be a part of such a strong and loving family. I had the privilege to care for my grandmother and have acquired memories that I will carry to eternity.
