Obituary of Joanne Marie Amann

AMANN, Joanne Marie, 38, of Wesley Chapel, Florida, formerly of Meriden, Connecticut, passed away peacefully at home after a valiant fight against a long term illness on November 23, 2018. Joanne was born in New Britain, Connecticut. She was a graduate of Pasco High School and Webster Institute of Technology. Before her illness, she worked for 11 years for the Pasco County School Board. Joanne was highly respected by her peers and was awarded the 2005-2006 School Related Professional of the Year Award for all her hard work and dedication. Joanne was a loving daughter, sister, and friend. She enjoyed swimming, tanning, and spending time with family and friends, traveling with frequent trips to Connecticut, playing in the snow, listening to music (especially Bon Jovi), reading, working on the computer, and spending time with her beloved pet bird, Tonta. Joanne kept close contact with many distant relatives; mainly aunts, uncles, and several cousins. She was particularly close with Helen Pfeiffer and Mary (Amann) Anton, both of Meriden, Connecticut. Joanne also kept close contact with a handful of best friends who she considered family, who were always there for her, and were always willing to help her out in any way they could. Joanne is preceded in death by her mother, Irene Amann; and brother, Gregory Amann. She is survived by her father, Thomas V. Amman Sr.; brother, David Amann of Wesley Chapel, Florida; and half-brother, Thomas V. Amann Jr. of Connecticut. A visitation will take place from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on November 29, 2018 at Loyless Funeral Home in Land O’Lakes, Florida. Interment is to follow at 11:00 am on December 8, 2018 at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Meriden, Connecticut.
