Obituary of Sonny Loughlin
James Joseph "Sonny" Loughlin, aka "Jim," 86 of Indian Shores, passed away Thursday, December 12, 2019. Jim is survived by his loving wife of thirty-one years, Joanne; 4 sons, James (Roxanne) Loughlin, III, Micheal Loughlin, Chuck Loughlin and Stan (Marlene) Burrows; 2 daughters, Julie Whiding and Sharon (Greg) Koshiol; daughter-in-law, Christine (Bart) Miller; and his sister, Marion (Russ) Venezia. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Keturah, James IV, (Christie), Ryan (Chelsea), Kinzie, Sean, Max, Paige, Kyle, Kevin, Kegan and D.C.; great-grandchildren, Cash, Indigo, Xealla, Devin, and Darrian; a loving family of nieces, nephews, and cousins too numerous to mention in New York; and lastly, his dear friend, Ray Fuschino. Jim was an honorably discharged US Army veteran and a retired US Postal Service supervisor. He loved baseball and was extremely involved with the New York Yankees in a security position. Jim had the honor of being one of the first people to play on Legends Field in Tampa and attended "Baseball Camp" for many years. He was a loving, kind, and generous family man that will be greatly missed by everyone whose life he touched. A Celebration of his Life will be announced and held at a later date. The family has entrusted care and services to Loyless Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Suncoast Hospice/Empath Heath.
