Jack Holloway

Obituary of Jack W Holloway

Holloway, Jack W of Lutz, Fl passed away on May 21, 2023. He was a second generation Floridian and was born on December 28, 1939. He met Judy at their local teen club where they danced together and fell in love; they were married in 1959. They were blessed with two sons, Joey (married to Casie) and Jimmy (married to Cyndi). In 1978, Jack and Judy started a pool construction and cast stone manufacturing business, Holloway Pools, out of their house in Lutz and it is still family-owned and operated to this day 45 years later (now located in Odessa, Fl). He became a grandfather much to his delight 6 times over the next years: Joshua (Crystal), Ashley, Jeremy (Jaimie), Jack, Jesse, and Jacob. He was such an incredible grandfather that he got promoted to being a great-grandfather three times: Jay, Jude, and Alice.

He was an avid fisherman, and loved saltwater fishing in Hudson, Fl, where he couldn’t wait to catch his next grouper or redfish to fry up for the family. He loved being out on the boat especially with his son Jimmy and his grandson Jack, and he was an expert at working a cast net. He retired from the pool business with a big party, passing the job onto Jimmy, but then he proceeded to come into work every day at the office afterwards regardless just to check on things. He loved a good party chatting with friends and family and he never failed to make some moves on the dance floor when a good 50s song came on. He loved working in his yard and had the most amazing green thumb. He never missed a sunset when he was in Hudson, always hoping to catch the elusive green flash, and he would often convince any person around to go out on the porch and watch it with him. He was delighted by nature, especially the wild deer that liked to congregate in his yard and he loved watching the birds. He enjoyed a good Western movie or Wheel of Fortune paired with a glass of his favorite red wine, and enjoyed relaxing on the weekends by watching the Turner Classic Movies channel with his wife, Judy. He also enjoyed building just about anything, he had a strong work ethic and everything he worked on was always done with care and precision. He was a kind and caring man that was devoted to his family and was one-of-a-kind.
