Obituary of Thomas Louis Walker
Thomas Louis Walker, 74, of Tampa passed away on Wednesday, March 22nd at Advent Health Carrollwood. He was born on March 1st, 1949 in Greensboro, NC and spent most of his life in Tampa, FL. Thom graduated from King High School in 1967 where he pursued his passion for baseball and football. He was preceded in death by his father, James Walker, mother, Sarah Rose, Dad, Ronald Rose Sr., and brother, Ronald Rose Jr. (Melinda). Thomas is survived by his son, Shane Walker, daughter, Tori Wilcox (Scot), grandsons, Austin and Braden Wilcox, brother, Jim Walker (Kristie), niece, Jennifer Diggs (Doug), nephews, Joey Walker (Rachel), Jamie Walker (Tiffanny), and their children.
Thomas was a proud veteran after serving for 4 years in the United States Navy. Following his time in the military, Thomas was a long standing member of the Insulators Union Local 67 and also spent several years working for Suarez Builders as an Assistant Superintendent/Service Manager.
Thomas loved Tampa and his hometown teams--especially the Buccaneers and Rays. He would always take the time to talk about his teams with his family and friends. Thom also had a passion for music and poetry. He would spend countless hours playing his guitar and even writing his own music and poems. Thom was “people person” who made countless friends throughout his journey through life. His infectious laugh and smile will be remembered by everyone who was lucky enough to have known him.
