Obituary of Patricia Killoy

Patricia "Patty" Killoy passed away peacefully on Friday, March 17, 2023, at home in Land O'Lakes, Florida surrounded by family. 

Patty was born on July 22, 1939 to Earl and Verna (Lee) Jones in Kinston, North Carolina.  After graduating high school in 1957, Patty went on to marry Jack Egan (widowed) and William Killoy.  Patty was a wonderful and loving mother who gave her all to her family and grandkids.  We were blessed to have her as our Mom.  Family came first and was above all else to Patty, a value she instilled in all those around her.  We will never be able to fill the space left behind by her.

Patty was a resident of Lenexa and Overland Park, Kansas for over 35 years, where she raised four children and volunteered for numerous organizations including Kansas City (KC) schools reading program, KC hospice, and Safehome - a Johnson County domestic abuse shelter. After raising four children Patty went on to pursue a career in Nursing.  She worked at Bethany Hospital in KC, KS helping Rehab patients and at St. Johns Hospital in KC, MO on the Medical floor.  She capped off her nursing career working as a school nurse in the Turner District in KC,KS and collected clothes, especially hats and gloves for the disadvantaged children there.

Patty's adventurous spirit compelled her to travel and enjoy many outdoor activities, including tennis, hiking, and summiting Pikes Peak. After retirement, Patty moved to Land O'Lakes, Florida to be with her siblings.  She was active in the community, participating in the church choir, bridge, Scarlet Belles, book club, and travel club.

Patty is survived by her four children: Diane (Robert) Berger, John (Kathy) Killoy, Richard (Lorie) Killoy, and Krissie (Kelly) Braun.  Siblings: Fred Jones, Linda (Jimmy) Allison, and Lynwood Jones.  Grandchildren:  Kelly, Patrick, and Nick Berger; William and Megan Killoy; Anika Braun; and two great-grandchildren. Patty is also survived by several nieces and nephews: Donna, Todd, Karen, Michelle, Christina, Christopher, Nick, Austin, Lisa and Kevin. 

Patty is preceded in death by her parents and brother Doug Jones.

Services will be held on Thursday March 23, 2023 at Loyless Funeral Home, 5310 Land O'Lakes Blvd, Land O'Lakes, Florida 34639.  Visitation will be at 2pm with Service starting at 3pm. Flowers may be sent to Loyless Funeral Home or consider a donation in Patty’s name to Gulfside Hospice (website: Gulfside.org) at, 2061 Collier Pkwy, Land O'Lakes, Florida 34639, as this organization was important to her
