Obituary of Matthew Lewis Beck

Matthew Lewis Beck, born March 17, 1951, died on February 17, 2023. 

Loved and loving husband, friend, brother, and son.  Matthew was the bravest man ever known to his wife.  He faced life’s adversities head on with love, grace, courage and a sense of humor.

Matthew spent 29 years at HCSO as a deputy sheriff working on patrol, in the schools, under cover, in K-9 and as a motor officer.  He was a part time instructor at the police academy at HCC.

Matthew is survived by his wife Betsy, mother in law, Marian Marion, sister and brother in law, Julie and Mike Bishop, and brother in law Ambers Farrara.  He is also survived by his chosen brother, Jack Bish, and niece Jenna, brother in sister in law Ed and Maria Smoak, and sister Lucy Polak.
