Norma La'O de Solá

Obituary of Norma La'O de Solá

Norma La'O de Solá, 79, originally from Puerto Rico, living in Tampa, passed away on January 15th, 2023.

Norma, often called "Nory" by her childhood friends and called "Aba" by her six grandkids, was born in Puerto Rico to Jorge La'O and Estela Franco. She was married to Jose "Cheo" Solá, who passed away 25 years ago in Puerto Rico.

She worked with the Electric Company in Puerto Rico in her younger years. She became a homemaker to raise her children. She always called her three kids, José, Javier, and Yariemar, "Mis pollitos," even until adulthood. In her 40s, she attended The University of Carolina (PR). She received a degree in Interior Design, an occupation that brought out her talent and creativity.

She spent most of her life doing things with her hands, from flowers to ceramics and interior decoration. She spent countless hours watching home renovation, and decoration shows on TV, a true fan of HGTV.

Everyone knew Norma as the "joke teller lady"; she was funny, loving, big-hearted, and will be deeply missed. Forever live in our memories.
