Obituary of Veronica Riggs

Veronica “Ann” (Ball) Riggs, 78, of Washington D.C. passed away on January 4, 2023.

Veronica, often referred to as "Ann", was born in Washington, DC on August 1, 1944, to Elmer and Zelda Ball. She was a retired Special Education Elementary Teacher at the District of Columbia Public Schools, a devout member of Christ the King Catholic Church (Silver Spring, MD) and the Shrine of the Sacred Heart (Washington, DC), and a community pillar.

Her love, kindness, generosity, and sense of humor will forever be inscribed in the hearts of her beloved husband of 50 years, Grady Riggs; as well as her adoring children, Valerie, Angela & Christopher Riggs; grandchildren, Kayla, Veronica, and Robert Hicks; siblings, David, Michael, and Anthony Ball and Vernelle (Ball) Goodson; many nieces and nephews; and a whole host of family and friends. To know her was to love her. She will be missed by many.
