Obituary of John Joseph Mahoney

John Joseph Mahoney, sadly passed away at the age of 87, on Thursday, October 20, 2022 in Springhill, Florida. He was born on October 22, 1934 in Long Island, New York and has been a resident of Florida for 30 years. He was a wonderful husband, father and friend and a well-loved member of the community.

He is survived by his wife, of 15 years, Lillian (Dixon) Mahoney, his loving daughters Kathy Polchan, Donna Toth, Carol Ann Logroi, Joanne Mahoney. Kelly Indursky, Eileen Caruana, Pamela Johnson and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by wife Carol Virginia Mahoney, daughters Doreen Henderson, Doris Grzrgorezyk and MaryEllen Gunther, mother, Anna Mae (Libby) Mahoney , father John J. Mahoney, and sister Ann Jurasek.

John worked as a painter and a tool and die fabricator. He proudly served as a member in US Navy. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, an active member of the Knights of Columbus, Amvets, VFW, American Legion, and the Eagles.

John always volunteered his time and energy in projects within his membership affiliations and community. He enjoyed the simplest pleasures in life like spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed bingo at his local Amvet Post and an occasional visit to the local casino. He loved watching westerns on TV.
