Obituary of David "Dave" Laing

David “Dave” Laing 72, of Land O’ Lakes, Florida passed away May 16, 2022 at his home with family by his side. He was Catholic in Faith and a parishioner of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church. Dave lived in California until 1980 before he moved to Land O’ Lakes, Florida. Because of his love for children, he ran the Ice Cream Parlor at the Lake Padgett Clubhouse and was known as "Big Daddy Dave" to so many kids. He then began his own business in construction until he retired. Spending time with his family and being with his grandchildren were his passions. Upon retirement, he dedicated his time to looking after his grandchildren. He loved driving his golf cart to the ball field to watch his grandchildren play all of their sports. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge and loved gathering with his friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Kathy Laing; daughter Michelle Young and her children Michael Sadowski and Victoria Roche; daughter Lisa Savage, her fiance', Jennifer Moore and their children Peyton Savage, Braden Savage, Preston Savage and Tyler Moore; cousin, Sister M. Kathleen Pritty, RSM.
