Obituary of Irene A. Strickland

Irene A. Strickland, 81 entered peacefully into Heaven the afternoon of January 22, 2022. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 12, 1940 to Albert R. Petri and Lois Marweg and moved to Florida in the early 70’s.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 43 years William E. Strickland.  She is survived by her two sons, Jeff and Bert Strickland; daughter-in-law, Traci Strickland and her two grandchildren, Raegan and Reese. 

Irene spent many years working for Pasco County Schools and retired in the early 2000’s.  She was the happiest when she was cooking or baking in the kitchen, surrounded by family.  Some of her most enjoyable moments were spent with her children and grandchildren.  Irene enjoyed traveling with family, each year they spent a week in North Carolina as well as a week in Sanibel Island. 

Our beautiful mother was strong, caring, courageous and completely dedicated to her loved ones.  We are thankful to God for the blessing of having this special and amazing woman in our lives who sacrificed so much for her family and friends. Her life will be remembered with much love and admiration, and we will hold her in our hearts until we meet again.
