Obituary of James Crawford

James Crawford, 73, passed away October 16.  James was born in Oceanside, NY and lived in many places around the country.  He eventually settled back on Long Island to be near what was most important to him, his family.  James was a kind soul and a good man.  He was a larger than life character who would light up a room with his infectious smile and great sense of humor. He was always making people laugh, often at his own expense.  When he wasn't selling iced tea, he was on the tennis court, with his family, or first on the buffet line.  Tennis was his passion, but he was also a beach volleyball star and handball player (who wasn't above a bad line call on a crucial point).  James always said the best times were spent with his family and the many friends he was so fortunate to have.  He was loved by all and will be missed by those who had the privilege of being a part of his life.  His stories, jokes and memory will be passed on through generations to come.

James leaves behind his brothers, Robert (Gina) Crawford, George (Sue) Crawford, and Michael Crawford, and sister, Mary (John) Trofatter, as well as his nieces and nephews, Eric, Danielle, Brandon, Christopher, Kelly, Matthew and Kate, and great nieces and nephews.
