Obituary of Eileen Janssens

Eileen Marie (Blattner) Janssens, age 92, passed away with her daughters by her side September 19, 2021.  Eileen was born December 16, 1928 to Elizabeth Gertrude (Kribs) Blattner and William Blattner in Chicago, Illinois.  Eileen graduated from High School and Secretarial school in Chicago and then married Albert (Big Al) Janssens April 15, 1950.

Before and after starting a family, Eileen held several secretarial positions including Ford Motor Company in Chicago and construction companies in the surrounding suburbs.

She is survived by her children Carl Janssens, Karen (Janssens) Valchuk, Adrienne (Janssens) Skipper, her eight beautiful grandchildren, Chris, Erik, Megan, Kurt, Krista, Ryan, Jason, and Kara, and 16 fantastic great grandchildren, with one on the way!

She was preceded in death by her husband Albert Janssens and her daughter Audrey (Janssens) Hakes.

Eileen had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and her spiritual life was extremely important to her.  She loved family and enjoyed camping, music/playing the piano, parties, church life/leading bible studies, home schooling, counseling, and was a choir director at several churches.  Eileen was a wife and mother at heart who enjoyed being everyone’s mom – most of her children’s friends also became her adopted sons, daughters, and grandchildren.  Her memory will be carried on in our hearts, and she will be missed by all who knew her.
