Obituary of Janis Eisenman

Janis Ann Eisenman, born March 22, 1958, tragically passed away on Saturday, August 22 in Tampa, FL. She was predeceased by her parents, Eleanor Janis Eisenman and Arthur F. Eisenman, Jr. She is survived by her life partner Gabe Noriega for whom she cared deeply.  Janis is also survived by siblings and respective spouses: David J. Eisenman (Karen) and Richard A. Eisenman; nieces Sarah E. Wilson (Laura) and Rebecca E. Butler (Brett); and nephews Alan Eisenman (Kallie) and Zachary Eisenman. Also left to grieve her absence are her many cousins and friends.

Janis grew up in Newport News, Va., graduated from Menchville High School, and attended Radford University majoring in Recreation. Her sophomore year she went to Orlando to do an internship for Disney, loved it, and never moved back.

Janis had a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh. She had a huge heart and a large circle of family and friends whom she loved dearly.  She was a generous soul and always quick to offer her help to others. Janis was a bright light in many people’s lives and her absence will be felt deeply.

A private service will be held for family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Temple Sinai in Newport News or the Peninsula SPCA.
