Obituary of James Gonzalez

James Gonzalez, 69, of Wesley Chapel, Florida passed away on July 15, 2020. He was born in Gary, Indiana and moved to Florida in the early 80’s from Brooklyn, NY.  People who knew James knew him as “Popman”, he could put a smile on anyone’s face and was always the life of the party with his big smile. When James attended High school he was an aviation mechanic and could rebuild any engine. In his spare time he loved to play baseball, attend car shows, travel, ride roller coasters, and enjoyed eating popcorn while watching movies like Star Trek or Marvel and also collected baseball cards and comic books. He loved his late wife Naomi Figueroa unconditionally. He is preceded in death by his mother, Ramona Rivera Gonzalez and father Ovidio Gonzalez; two brothers Joe and Israel He is survived by his one son, James Joshua Gonzalez (Donna) and their kids Khloe Gonzalez and Liliana Gonzalez; one daughter, Jessica Ibanez, and her children Alexandra Lopez, Angelika Ibanez, Alyssia Ibanez; one great granddaughter Jaylee; and Cassandra Sagastume whom was like a daughter to him, and her children, Elias and Alexander; Sister, Daisy Zingalli (Salvador); He was strong and a fighter who was loved and will always be missed. He left a legacy of love and kindness.
