Obituary of Dan Cooper

Dan Jay Cooper, 63, passed away Monday, April 6, 2020 at his residence in Lutz, Florida.

He was born in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri on November 28, 1956, son of the late Grover and Genevieve (Billings) Cooper. Dan, and his wife Nancy, who predeceased him in 2016, moved to Blue Mountain, Mississippi and were the owners of Daylight Donuts for years. Dan returned to FLorida in 2016 to be closer to his family. 

Dan is survived by his stepson, Brad Coker of Knoxville, TN, stepdaughter, Jennifer Coker Gilpin of Blue Mountain, MS, three sisters, Sue (Greg) Schwanenberger of Lutz, FL, Judy Moe of Haines City, FL, and Jeannie (Charlie) Franco of Denver, CO, two grandchildren, Caleb Coker and Baleigh Coker, nephews, Eric (Marylyn) Dennis, Jasen (Gina) Dennis, nieces, Lene (Pablo) Del Valle, Erika (Nick) Desreuisseau, Elizabeth Franco and loving great nieces, great nephews and many friends.

Dan was a unique person with many strong beliefs. If he called you friend, you were his friend for life. He loved animals, especially his most recent dogs Maggie, Cookie and his cat, Charlotte. He was a huge Baltimore Orioles fan. He loved to cook, fish and enjoyed music and reading. 

Donations can be made to Disabled American Veterans or ASPCA in Dan's memory. A memorial will be planned for the future.
