To the Family Of CoL Loudermilk. I am very sorry to hear of the death of one of my former Commanders. He was my commander when he was a Captain commanding the 525th Signal Company in Ft Bliss Texas and when we moved to Ft Huachuca Arizona In 1964. The 525th was a unit that supported Strike command and had many operations with them under his command. COl Loudermilk was one of the best Commanders I served with during my 20 years in the United states Army and I am sure that was true with every unit he commanded though out his career. I distinctly remember that when he came in to the 525th each morning , he would go into his office and read his Bible. He was someone that the NCO's and the men looked up to as long as I served under him. He always looked out for and stood up for his men and they in turn had a great respect for him as did I. When I was selected for the Sgt Major List in 1977 I came to find out it was my old commander from 1964, Col Loudermilk that chaired the selection board. I have thought of him many times since 1964 and wished our paths would cross again but it never happened until I decided to try and find him on the internet and was shocked to find his obituary. I am so sorry for your loss and may God be with you at this time.

Roy and Sharlene were our neighbors and good friends for 20 years. Our hearts were broken with his passing. Our granddaughter Delia will always have fond memories of “funny”Mr. Roy.

I was saddened to hear of the death of Roy. My deepest sympathies to Sharlene and his family. Roy was a great counselor to me and was an very humble person in spite of his many accomplishments. I also appreciate his patience putting up with my horrible golf game in the many time I was lucky enough to play a round with him.

Dear Sharlene and family,
We extend our most sincere sympathy in Roy’s passing in December. Roy’s dedication to serving his church and serving others was outstanding. He was a man of character and honesty and had a great personality and sense of humor. Upon answering the phone in the church office, he would always greet me by saying “This is Roy!”
He endured much and now he has received his eternal reward with our Heavenly Father.
May God bless you as you grieve and celebrate Roy’s life.
