Obituary of John Garrett, Jr.

John G. Garrett, Jr. 77 of Wesley Chapel, passed away Monday, December 16, 2019. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Carole; 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Mike (Cathy) Garrett, Chris (Jennifer) Garrett and Philip (Monica) Garrett. Also surviving are his grandchildren, John Michael, Christopher, Jacob, Jonathan, Kayla, James, Danny and Anna and his beloved sister, Brenda, and brother-in-law Dr. H.L. Hooper and niece Ann-Marie. John was born in Nashville, Tennessee and moved to Florida in 2012. He was a graduate of Vanderbilt University, Electrical Engineer at I.C. Thomasson Associates, lifetime member of IEEE and enjoyed photography and traveling. He was a devout man of God, being a member of Judson Baptist Church in Nashville where he served as a deacon and Idlewild Baptist Church in Lutz. He was a devoted husband, father and Grandfather. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 19 at Loyless Funeral Home from 1:00 pm -2:30 pm with a Funeral Service to take place at 2:30 pm. Graveside services will be at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Nashville, Tennessee on Saturday, December 21st at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Idlewild Mission Fund or Metropolitan Ministries.
