Obituary of Sitaben Patel

Sitaben M. Patel was born on October 16, 1933, in Vadavswami, India. She was the eldest of six siblings- Kamraben, Bhorabhai, Amrutbhai, and Maniben. Sitaben never went to school a day in her life. Her responsibilities were comprised of taking care of the household and working on the family farm. She took her responsibilities very seriously and always carried out her duties with love. She was married to Manekbhai, from Paliyad, at the age of 18. Manekbhai was a true gentleman and received an education with a BS degree. Manekbhai was also proficient in English. After marriage, Sitaben lived with her husband and extended family in Admdavad (Shahpur, Navi Vadvalipur Society). Sitaben and Manekbhai had 3 children, Nitha, Varsha, and Ajay. They lived with Manekbhai’s three brothers and their wives. They continued to live here for over 45 years until relocating to a new residence near Sola Road. Manekbhai took a bike or a rickshaw to work on his family farm throughout their marriage. Manekbhai passed away on May 12, 2009. Sitaben then joined her son Ajay and left India in March 2010. Sitaben lived in the Tampa area for the last 10 years of her life where she was cared for by her loving son Ajay, daughter-in-law Jyostna, and two grandchildren Mohini and Kirtan.
