Robert French

Obituary of Robert Marten French

Robert M. “Bob” French of Tampa, Florida passed away Monday, September 23, 2019. Born in Garden City, Michigan, Bob graduated from the University of Michigan before moving to Tampa, Florida in 1994.  Bob took quickly to his new Floridian home enjoying grilling and floating in the pool, tennis, golf, convertibles and becoming an ardent fan of the Tampa Bay Lightning. Bob was also a talented winemaker and avid baseball card collector. Bob leaves behind his beautiful wife Lisa French, beloved mother Gudi French, daughter Allyson (Justin) Barnes whom he cheered on in the pool, son Derek French whom he loved to coach on the diamond, and brother Steve (Kelly) French.

Those who knew Bob knew his blood ran maize and blue. To honor this, the family will be celebrating Bob’s life by hosting a Michigan tailgate at their home, 18017 Palm Breeze Dr. on Saturday, October 5, 2019 from 12-4pm to cheer the Wolverines to victory. Go Blue!

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to The American Diabetes Association

A godly man, a family man, and a Michigan man, Bob will be dearly missed.
