Obituary of Burton Lanning Dykeman

Burton Lanning Dykeman, 95 of Lutz, passed away August 21, 2019. He was born in Ithaca, New York and moved to Lutz in 1955. He is survived by his son, Ronald (Julie) Dykeman; his daughters, Connie Myrick and Lynn (Dwayne) Lyons; 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife of 72 years, Lorraine in 2018 and his daughter, Sue Adams in 2019. Burton enjoyed building many things, especially birdhouses and was of Christian faith and a long time member of First Baptist Church of Lutz and was an honorably discharged WWII Army veteran. He never spoke too much about serving his country; he mostly spoke about how proud he was of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom he loved dearly.The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 6, 2019 at 9:30 am with a memorial gathering at 9 am at the church. Burial and military honors will be held at Florida National Cemetery at 11:30 am. The family has entrusted care and services to Loyless Funeral Home.
