Obituary of Leslie Anne Thornton

Leslie Anne Thornton, 64, of Land O Lakes, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2019.

She was born in New York City and moved to this area from Fayetteville, North Carolina in 1973.

Leslie worked in healthcare human resources. Her ability to put people at ease helped in her career as a recruiter.  She brought out the best in people by offering encouragement and support during a candidate’s job search process.  She was always positive and confident in her professional life and approached her work with diligence and loyalty.

She was naturally talented and very skilled with crafting, sewing and costume design.  She created wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses and costumes for Comicon participants.  There wasn’t a project within her home that she could not complete, from putting furniture together, reupholstering furniture, to laying new floors, and installing new kitchen cabinets.

Leslies was an extraordinary cook.  She did not need to follow a recipe and could create a four course meal with whatever was in the pantry at the time.  Leslie also loved to garden and created out spaces at her home for relaxing and meditation.

Leslie is preceded in death by her husband, Dana G Thornton.

She is survived by her daughter, Deanna Coleman; three grandchildren, Cameron, Emily and Ian; sister, Denise Kay and her husband, Kenneth and her nephews Johnathan and Nicholas.
