Obituary of Roderick Davis Newman

Roderick Davis Newman, age 82, of Lutz, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2019.

Mr. Newman was born in Buffalo, New York and moved to Lutz, Florida in 2003.  Before retiring to Florida, he was a long-time resident of East Aurora and West Falls, New York.  He served in the United States Army in the 1960’s. He was a strong Second Amendment supporter and a true Patriot. 

Mr. Newman was a blacktop paving contractor and operated R.D. Newman Developer, Inc. in Western New York for over 30 years.  He loved hunting, classic cars, sports, a good action-adventure flick, and politics, but most of all he loved his wife, his kids, and his grandchildren. 

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lutz, Florida. Mr. Newman is preceded in death by his mother Jessie, his father Victor and his sister Barbara. He is survived by his wife Trudy; four children, Michael, Kelly, Dana, and Bradley; four grandchildren, Kelsey, Griffin, Julia and Natalie; and his sister, Sandra.

A Celebration of Life for Mr. Newman will be held on his birthday, August 26, 2019 beginning at 10:00 am at Oakwood Cemetery in East Aurora and continuing with an additional gathering of friends and family at 16 Old Farm Road Orchard Park starting at 12:00 pm.
