I remember you dad and mom when I was a young child. Your parents were very good friends with my parents and we all moved to Florida together from NY. Earl and Orvis Beckwith. They both have passed as well my mother just passed last August and before she passed unexpectedly we were talking about your parents. My mom was laughing about all the funny stories your dad used to tell and what a funny guy he was. I', very sorry about your loss it is so hard but know they are happy to be together again. I'm so glad I stumbled upon this obituary as it answered a few questions mom was asking before her passing.
Please know your family is in my thoughts

Herb, my dear friend, what a sad day this is to see your name in the newspaper today. We had a time of it didn’t we? All those great years we had at RMC. What a blast , huh? And you made more racket than just about anybody else. You should have been a stand up comedian or a movie star with your booming New York Italian brogue you would have been a star in any Hollywood movie or comedy theater. And the diving and fishing and lobstering. Yeah, we did it all, my friend as though we had not a worry in the world and yet, here we are, wishing we could do it all over again. I don’t think I would have changed a minute of it, except maybe the ending and a very sad ending it is for all of us. I love you buddy. MAy you have the seas at yournstern, the flying fish at your bow and the deep purple water beneath your keel. God speed my friend, God speed. VD

My grandfather was a larger-than-life figure in many ways. He taught me many life lessons, but none more important than self-confidence and a sense of adventure. He had a lust for life seldom seen in the world which I’ll always remember him for. He made sure to include his family in all of his adventures, should they have the temerity to try to keep up with him, but also found ways to connect with each of us in a one-on-one, personal manner. He will be forever missed. However, his memory should be celebrated by all who knew him and his spirit in (and of) life should passed along to all generations who follow in his enormous footsteps.

To the Coluccio family,
I work with Linda, who once saved my life, (forever grateful to her), and would like her and her entire family to know how saddened I am to hear of her and your Dad's passing. He is happily resting in Heaven with your Mom today, but that does not change the sadness and heartbreak I am sure you all feel. If Linda is an example of the kind of man her Father was, he must have been a wonderful man. I wish you all God's Peace, Love and Warmth that surpasses all understanding and hope you find solace in all the wonderful memories you all have.
God Bless you and keep you, Karen & Tony Rodriguez

After reading my Grandfathers Obituary a lifetime of memories come to mind. I think of the impact he had on my life. I am the man I am because of Herb Coluccio. A competitive edge was instilled in me form my earliest memories. He was hard on me, but it made me better. He believed in me no matter what I was doing. Grandpa told me I could accomplish anything. When someone believes in you it makes a huge difference in life. Words can’t express my appreciation for everything you have done for me. Vacations and fishing trips are special times for me. I was lucky to have a Grandpa that took time for me. Grandpa showed me skills in his shop that I used to support my family. I remember when I was 18 he gave me my first set of tools, some of them I still use today. I think Grandpa was hard on his whole family, but it’s because he knew we are special people. We are stronger, tougher, and made out of something different then everyone else. I know everything I do and everywhere I go a piece of Grandpa goes too. Grandpa always said. “ When it’s too tough for everyone else, it’s just right for us!” Anytime I want to stop or give up this saying comes to me, and I press on. I will miss the stories but miss the way you told them even more. The way you lived life is an inspiration to all your family. I promise to live life to the fullest in you memory. You always said “ Life is for the living.” I truly believe you lived it to the fullest. I can say without a doubt I’m better because of your impression on me. Thank you for all your influence, time, and inspiration over my life.
Love your Grandson Kenny
