Obituary of Christine Rugino

RUGINO, Christine, 62, of Tampa, Florida passed away on March 9, 2019. She was born in Bethpage, New York, grew up in Massapequa Park, NY and graduated from the State University of NY- Binghamton then moved to the Tampa Bay area in 2004. Christine was a passionate writer and poet. She loved her country and considered herself a proud American. Her favorite activities included both watching and playing tennis and racquetball, playing other games like black jack, Boggle, Yahtzee and Spit, going to the horse track, listening to Jazz music and had a keen eye for interior design. She was always on the hunt for the perfect piece of jewelry and absolutely loved her home by the ocean in Point Lookout, NY. She was also quite the movie buff, loved flowers, and had a sweet tooth for licorice and Good & Plenty. Those around her were touched by her spirituality and positive energy. Her proudest accomplishment was being a mother.  She had unconditional love for her family, friends and pets, including Kallie, Emmy, Tabby, Gracie and Baby.

She is survived by her loving partner of 25 years, Robert Kelly; daughter, Rebecca Kelly; Stepdaughters, Jillian Danukos and Brittany Kelly; parents, Anthony and Phyllis Rugino; sister, Cathy Rugino; brother, Richard Rugino and his wife, Janet; her grandchildren, Jace Danukos, Quinn Danukos, Ellis Nelson, and Jack Stoner.

A funeral service will take place at 7:00 pm on Monday, March 11, 2019 at Loyless Funeral Home. Family will receive friends one hour prior.
