Obituary of Harold Lloyd Burke

BURKE, Harold Lloyd, 86, of Land O’Lakes, Florida passed away February 21, 2019. He was born in Kingston, Jamaica  W. I. and moved to New Jersey in 1962.  Lloyd attended Rutgers University in New Jersey. Lloyd held managerial positions with Ingersoll Rand Co., and was later Vice president of Overland Trading Co. in Los Angeles. In the mid 1980’s he ventured out and started his own freight forwarding company and named it after his family, BROMLY.  After living in California and Arizona, he moved to the Tampa Bay area in 20o11. Lloyd was always dressed to the nines and loved entertaining friends.  He was a very generous man. Lloyd enjoyed playing golf and listening to classical music. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Sydney Burke and Lucille Lopez; sister, Lynette James; granddaughter, Alana.  Lloyd is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Olive; daughters, Michelle Walker and her husband Nelson, Bridgette Burke, Yvette Gray, and Rosa Savory; sister, Grace McClean and her daughter, Bridgette; sister in law, Delores Bromfield and her husband John; grandchildren, Monique, Mike, Melanie, Devon, Mia, Shannon, Leigha, Andrew, Brittany, and Jay; great grandchildren, Noah, Elija, Oliver, and Rhian Olivia; his niece Lyndia Hayden; cousin, Cyril and Maria Robinson; close friends, Wally Norton, Joan and Mackie; Dor, Claudette, Audrea, Evelyn and Buddy Mitchell; childhood friend, Chips in Jamaica, and many other loving friends.

A memorial service will take place at 2:00pm on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at Loyless Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to service.
