Katherine LaBoeuf

Obituary of Katherine Shirley LaBoeuf

LeBoeuf, Katherine “Shirley” of Tampa, Florida left this life on January 24, 2019 to join her husband, Joseph N.G. LeBoeuf Sr. The matriarch of the LeBoeuf family, Shirley will be deeply missed. Born on February 4, 1928 in Lawrence, MA, later moving to Lowell, she was a New Englander to the core. Before marrying her Marine, she was a secretary to Admiral Hyman Rickover, the father of the US Navy nuclear submarine program, but she was proudest of her jobs as military wife, mother of 7, grandmother of 12, and great grandmother of 6. Throughout her life, she was an avid competitive bowler, unbeatable Yahtzee player, and never found a western she wouldn’t read. In her later years, the Hallmark channel kept her smiling but eating good food and being surrounded by her children made her the happiest. Shirley is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Joseph N.G. LeBoeuf Sr. She is survived by her 7 children, Joseph Jr., Kathleen, James, Colleen, Maureen, Mary Charleen, John; brother, James Connors; 12 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at Loyless Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, a gift in Shirley’s memory to the Melech Hospice House would be appreciated.
