Obituary of John Russell Cooper

COOPER, John Russell, 84, of Tampa, passed away Sunday, August 13, 2006, under the care of Life Path Hospice in Tampa. He was born in St. Petersburg and raised in Wesley Chapel. While serving in the U S Air Force during WWII, he earned the Distinguished Flying Cross and a Purple Heart. After 21 years in the Air Force, he retired as SMSGT and worked for the Tampa Tribune for 15 years. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Ruth Cooper of Tampa; son, Fernie “Pat” Cooper of Land O’ Lakes; daughter, Sharman Feliciani of Wesley Chapel; brother, Carl Cooper of Venice; sister, Freida Hunt of Lakeland; grandchildren, John Russell Cooper III, Casey Cooper, Bridget Tom, Lesley Feliciani, Allison DiFede; great grandchildren, Kaitlin and Jacob Ward, Dominick, Gino, and Rocco DiFede.
