Obituary of Bertin J. Karpinski

KARPINSKI, Bertin J., 79, of Tampa, Florida, passed away November 26, 2018. He was born in Auburn, New York and moved to Tampa in 1981. Bert graduated from Mount Carmel High School in Auburn, Georgetown University and Georgetown University Law School. Bert was a member of St. Timothy Catholic Church. He adored his bride, Joyce, and looked with love and pride on his three sons. Very dear to him were his seven grandchildren. Predeceasing him are his parents, Catherine and Stephen Karpinski and his brother, Stephen Karpinski, Jr. Bert is survived by his wife of 55 years, Joyce; his sons, Bertin Karpinski, Jr. and his wife Susan; Christopher Karpinski and his wife, Stacey; Michael Karpinski and his wife Kristen; a sister, Carol Groeschel and her husband, Paul; sister-in-law, Helen Karpinski. Also surviving him are his grandchildren, whom Bert affectionately referred to as “The Magnificent Seven”: Jennifer, Lisa, Kyle, Zachary, Riley, Kate and Annie. A Memorial Mass will be held on December 21, 2018, at St. Timothy Catholic Church. Family will receive friends one hour prior. Contributions in Bert’s honor can be made to St. Vincent De Paul society, care of St. Timothy Church.
